Triumph’s next big move drops in April, but at 350cc

Triumph is gearing up to enter a new space in India’s motorcycle market with its upcoming 350cc range, expected to launch in April. After the strong response to the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X, the brand is now looking to offer a more cost-friendly option by staying under the 350cc tax bracket, potentially reshaping its strategy for Indian riders.

Triumph Motorcycles India confirms the launch of its new 350cc range set to hit the markets by April 2026. The announcement was made by Rajiv Bajaj, Managing Director and CEO of Bajaj Auto, which oversees Triumph’s production and distribution in the country.

Indian riders can expect the new lineup to include sub-350cc versions of popular models, offering the same iconic styling and build quality but with smaller engines that fall into a lower tax category — opening the door to sharper pricing for Indian buyers.

The tax for motorcycles under 350cc enjoy a significantly lower 18% slab.

While technical specifications are yet to be officially revealed, industry reports suggest the new 350cc engines may deliver slightly lower peak power than the current 400cc units, but with a more usable spread of torque suited to everyday riding.

What it means for riders

With such a strategy, Triumph’s motorcycles position themselves as a competition against well-established rivals in the sub-350cc segment. The upcoming bikes may include 350cc versions of the Speed 400, Scrambler 400 X and Thruxton 400, with further announcements expected in the run-up to the April launch.

Questions still loom whether the existing 400cc range will continue alongside the new 350cc lineup as enthusiasts are eagerly waiting for details on how these new models will stack up against key competitors.
